Volunteers Needed for Wicksteed Park
Wicksteed Park, which is owned by the Wicksteed Trust, needs people to help maintain its status as a Grade II English Heritage Listed Park & Garden.
Volunteers are being sought to help with just about every aspect of running the Park including: car parking; gardening; general maintenance; aviary upkeep; publicity; waterways management, and many more.
Additionally there are a number of volunteer positions such as Playground Supervisors, daffodil sales (for Charity), duck food sales (to raise money for the upkeep of the aviary) and FOH stewards to show guests to their seats in the new Pavilion 50’s & 60’s daytime Show, ‘The Way We Were’.
Park Management will be delighted to hear from people with any time to spare with either a specific skill or simply a desire to just help out at this much loved historic Park.
Wicksteed Park’s MD, John Roberts, says:
“Even now, in 2011, when we have been open for nearly 90 years, many people do not realise Wicksteed Park is a Charity. The credit crunch may have a big impact on us and the Park needs the support of local people. We are proud of our English Heritage Grade II status and we need your help to maintain it.”
If you have a few hours to spare or are interested in donating your skills to the Park then please contact Jenny Course on 01536 512475 for more details, or email jenny@wicksteedpark.co.uk.
